A UK logistics company based in Corby is looking for a Transport Planner to join their team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for planning consignments efficiently and managing contractor relationships. The ideal candidate will have route planning experience, excellent UK geographical knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. Shift patterns are rotating between 08:00 - 16:30 and 10:30 - 19:00. The salary offered is between £32,000 and £35,000 per year along with various benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of planning a multi-customer, multi-drop, groupage operation.
• Skilled in route planning and excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Ability to resolve delivery issues proactively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and independent working ability.
• Competent in all traffic office functions.
• Understanding of EU Tachograph/RTD/Vehicle weights & measures legislation.

Role Purpose Statement

We have an exciting opportunity to join our transport planning team in our busy Corby office. The Transport Planner will plan work from both the main office and Customers own premises. No one day will be the same as you will plan for a variety of different customers nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Planning a variety of consignments in the most efficient way.
• Building loads on the Transport Management System.
• Deploying runs to a Transport Plan.
• Arrange back loads and collections.
• Sub contract work as required and manage contractor relationships.
• Offer the highest level of customer service, both internal and external.
• Managing and liaising with drivers to meet the customers expectations.

About you

• Previous experience of planning a multi-customer, multi-drop, groupage operation would be advantageous.
• The successful candidate will be skilled in route planning and have excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Will have the ability to be accurate and proactively resolve any delivery issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with their own initiative alongside being part of a team.
• You will be competent in all traffic office functions.
• Understanding of EU Tachograph /RTD/Vehicle weights & measures legislation.

The shifts are on a rotating basis 08.00 - 16.30 and 10.30 - 19.00
