Transport Planner – London (Hayes)

Salary: £35,000 with shift allowance + overtime (time and a half Monday–Saturday, double time on Sundays)

Hours: Shift-based, 38.5 hours – 4 on / 4 off (Days & Nights: 07:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00)

Reports to: Transport Manager

We’re currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all daily collections and delivery requirements are met, successfully communicate with all departments on operational issues, support the department in making sure all legal compliances are adhered to.

Overall Role Purposes:
  • Planning & managing vehicles for Import collections and Export deliveries from Heathrow.
  • Arrange ADHOC temperature-controlled collections under GDP compliance.
  • Adapt and embrace change while keeping calm in a pressured time driven environment.
  • Work as part of the transport team.
  • Be flexible with working times and days, part of a shift operation.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, with internal and external customers.
  • Comply with all the company’s Global Forwarding processes and procedures.
  • Be a good problem solver and enjoy the challenge.
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Scheduling (desirable but not essential).
  • Full understanding of Aviation Security regulation and ensuring compliance at all times (desirable but not essential).
  • Good knowledge of the air freight industry (previous experience preferred).
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety in the workplace and monitoring and enforcing all safe systems of work for drivers to follow.
  • Highly Motivated with the ability to multitask.
  • IT Generalist knowledge – Ideally with previous experience working with Transport Management systems and confident using MS office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail, customer service, administration and financial awareness.
  • 5 Year checkable work history.
  • CRB check.
