Overview

Our client are a well established (over 40 years) UK Transport, Haulage and Pallet Distribution business based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Due to growth they are recruiting for a General Haulage Transport Planner to work as part of a small close team within a growing family business.

The role will be working alongside the transport manager with a focus on next day to 3 day planning for a fleet of 20 wagons including a large number of tramper drivers.

Responsibilities
  • Support next day to 3 day planning for a fleet of 20 wagons, including tramper drivers, in collaboration with the transport manager.
  • Interact daily with customers via email and telephone for live bookings and pricing negotiation.
  • Contribute to compliance duties as required (CPC qualification desirable but not essential).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Geographic knowledge of the UK and its road networks is highly desirable.
  • Ability to price loads accordingly.
  • Some experience within general haulage is required; CPC qualification is desirable but not essential.
Benefits and Details
  • Salary: 30,000 – 35,000 base, depending on experience.
  • Holiday: 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).
  • Pension: Peoples Pension.
  • Hours: Around 8.5 hours per day, start and finish times depending on operation but typically 6am – 6pm.
