A forward-thinking vehicle salvage company is seeking a full-time Transport Planner for their Canvey Island site. The successful candidate will manage daily vehicle collections and communicate effectively with drivers. Knowledge of UK geography and good communication skills are essential. The role requires self-motivation, organization, and flexibility, working 37.5 hours from Monday to Friday.
Armstrong Knight are working with a forward-thinking company in the vehicle salvage and disposal industry. The company has been serving the industry for over 50 years and provides the best vehicle salvage collection and disposal service for UK-based insurance companies, fleet hire, and more.
The company is looking for a full-time permanent Transport Planner to join their team at their Canvey site. The role reports to the Transport Planner Team Leader and is critical to the success of the transport department.
The purpose of the role is to manage daily vehicle collections based on insurance company instructions through a combination of company-owned trucks and sub-contractors. The planner will maximize collection capacity by effectively utilizing the fleet of transporters and topping up routes where applicable.

The suitable candidate must be able to understand the vehicle collection process and work within a clearly defined set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). They should have knowledge of road transport and UK geography, understand driving issues, and have good communication skills.
The successful applicant should be self-motivated, organized, resilient, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to use their initiative. They should demonstrate a willingness to review and suggest improvements to the Driver and vehicle routing applications.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week, between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, with an hour lunch break.
