Transport Planner - Newtownabbey - Nightshift
£40,000-£45,000
Full-time Mon - Fri (Nightshift)

Excel Recruitment are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to support and co-ordinate the daily logistics operations for a fast-paced distribution centre. Reporting to the Transport Manager, this role is key to ensuring cost-effective, legally compliant, and efficient routing of multi-drop deliveries throughout Ireland and the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Plan daily multi-drop delivery routes and maximise efficiency
  • Ensure effective use of the fleet, including vehicle space
  • Collaborate with Transport and Depot Managers to coordinate routes
  • Ensure compliance with legal driving hours, tachograph rules, and road safety standards
  • Continuously monitor and improve routing efficiency and delivery performance
  • Manage transport planning tasks independently in a time-sensitive environment
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and planning principles
  • 2-3 years\' experience in a transport planning or similar logistics role
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • Familiarity with tachograph and driver hours regulations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in transport systems, Microsoft Office, and general IT
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to punctuality and attendance
