Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a Transport Network Planner to develop and optimise efficient transport routes within the DHL Supply Chain network. This role is crucial in ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery solutions. Candidates should have prior route planning experience, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong IT capabilities. The position offers a full-time permanent contract with Monday to Friday shifts, predominantly from 9am to 5pm.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in route planning across a Transport Network.
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience with planning systems is advantageous.

Shift patterns: Monday – Friday (predominantly 9am – 5pm)

About the role

Transport Network Planner – develop and optimise efficient transport routes across the DHL Supply Chain network, ensuring cost‑effective and timely delivery solutions.

Typical day
  • Responsible for delivery of efficient and profitable network transport plans
  • Ensure network KPI’s are met and customer SLA’s are exceeded
  • Use of ConnectTMS – bespoke software for building loads, creating routes and allocating vehicles within planning deadlines
  • Continuous improvement of the transport network, increasing customer satisfaction and cost‑effectiveness of transport and planned routes
  • Work with a range of departments and people at different levels in transport, warehouse, end‑point customers and DHL customers
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in route planning across a Transport Network of different sites and customers
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting strict deadlines
  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft Office, Teams; planning systems experience advantageous
