Job summary

A logistics company is seeking a Transport Clerk to support night operations. You'll manage delivery paperwork, assist drivers, and handle data entry tasks in a busy environment. Experience in a transport or logistics role is essential, along with confidence in IT. The position offers £30,665 p/a and is based 100% on-site with a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern.

Qualifications

  • Confident using spreadsheets and generating reports.
  • Ability to organise tasks and manage workload is critical.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare delivery and collection paperwork.
  • Debrief drivers upon return and ensure paperwork processing.
  • Produce reports for management and customers.
  • Check driver timesheets and tachograph data.
  • Perform high volume data entry and general administrative duties.

Skills

Experience in 3PL or transport office
Confident IT user
Organised and able to manage workload
Knowledge of transport legislation

Transport Clerk – Nights

Castle Donington

Temp to Perm

We are recruiting an experienced transport administrator to join the night operation of a busy logistics hub in the centre of the East Midlands Gateway, on the outskirts of Kegworth and Castle Donington. In this role you will support the transport managers and planners to ensure the smooth running of delivery operations throughout the depot.

Hours of work
  • Static Nights
  • 18:00 - 06:00
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Pay

£26,666 basic + 15% shift allowance

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing delivery and collection paperwork
  • Debriefing drivers when returning to the depot and ensuring paperwork is inputted and processed correctly
  • Producing reports for the management team and customers
  • Checking driver timesheets, mileage logs, and tachograph data
  • High volume data entry, copying and filing
  • Other ad hoc duties to support the wider team
About you
  • Experience in 3PL or transport office in an administrative function is essential for this position
  • Confident and adaptable IT user, comfortable using spreadsheets and reporting
  • Organised and ability to plan and manage own workload throughout the shift
  • Knowledge of basic transport legislation (e.g. driver hours, vehicle compliance) would be beneficial
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working long term nights on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
  • Able to commute to East Midlands Gateway (FDE74) or shift start and finish times

Please be aware this role is based 100% on site and hybrid/remote working is not offered due to the nature of the role.

This role is initially offered on a temporary basis, however permanent contract available after qualifying time period.
