This position focuses on testing electrical and electronic assemblies to MOD and commercial standards, ensuring health and safety compliance while delivering high-quality results on time and within cost guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety legislation and policies are adhered to, to ensure a safe and legally compliant working environment.
- Test electrical and electronic assemblies and equipment using standard safe operating procedures to MOD and commercial standards.
- Devise suitable test fixtures, rigs, and procedures in liaison with the Engineering department.
- Work with Operations/Engineering to resolve problems as and when they occur remaining commercially focused.
- Demonstrate equipment performance to customers and representatives.
- Produce documentary evidence of test routines.
- Ensure compliance with statutory/company rules and procedures.
- Liaise with Engineering with regards any design changes or rectification.
- Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Demonstrate and adhere to our company values at all times.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
- Complete the job on time within the costing guidelines as advised by Management.
Qualifications / Skills Required
Required:
- Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements and legislation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Highly motivated with the ability to take a proactive approach.
- Knowledge of internal and ISO9001; 2015 Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management.
- Knowledge of 5S continuous improvement and 7W waste elimination processes.
- Awareness of ESD.
- PC literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred:
- Apprentice trained.
- HNC/HND in Electrical /Electronic Engineering (or a similar discipline) or equivalent or working towards.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (such as IFS).
- IPC 610 qualification or equivalent.
- IPC 7711 Repair.
Qualifications
- GCSE Grade C Math's & English or equivalent.
- IPC 620 qualification or equivalent.
Specialist Training Required/Application Specific Training
Additional Requirements/Particular Aptitude/Skill Required
- Driving license required.
- Travel to alternative locations in the UK and abroad to undertake occasional off-site activities is required.
- Working overtime and unsociable hours as and when required.
