Job description

Imperial Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for a Trainee Setter on behalf of a well-established manufacturer specialising in high-speed packaging production. This role involves operating thermoforming machinery, supporting efficient production output, and ensuring product quality and safety standards are maintained.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work in accordance with the company's Health and Safety policies, BRC Certification, and good manufacturing practices
  • Carry out product changeovers, machine setups, and run established tooling to specification within production time targets
  • Diagnose and correct running faults promptly
  • Communicate progress and issues effectively with the team leader
  • Perform production duties including raw material changes, packing, taping, manual lifting, and labelling
  • Ensure products are packed and labelled correctly in line with specifications
  • Complete and document quality inspections accurately and on time
  • Report defects or out-of-spec product to the team leader
  • Input production information into the company computer system and complete relevant paperwork accurately
  • Remove all good products from skeletal waste before restarting machines after size changes
  • Carry out full machine clean downs as directed
  • Segregate waste and defect product into appropriate containers
  • Wear correct PPE and follow all safe working practices
  • Maintain good housekeeping around the machinery and work area
  • Keep the environment clean, organised and safe at all times
  • Liaise with team members regarding holiday and absence cover to ensure adequate staffing
