A healthcare organization in Bath seeks a trainee Biomedical Scientist for a fixed-term position of 1 year. The role involves completing training in the Haematology laboratory under the supervision of qualified staff. The role of a biomedical scientist is to perform investigations or process tissue and body fluids which are used to diagnose, monitor and treat patients. Under the direction and supervision of qualified staff the post holder will gain broad experience in the delivery of routine and specialist diagnostic laboratory services in accordance with national and professional standards.
The post-holder will be expected to complete an agreed programme of training, over a period of 12 months, within the Haematology laboratory, which has been accredited for training purposes. The training will be delivered in all aspects of Biomedical Science to achieve Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
This is a fixed‑term position for a period of 1 year and the training will need to be completed within that period.
