Job description

Position: Trailer Fitter

Location: Portsmouth

Job Type: Permanent, Monday - Friday 7am-4pm or 9am-6pm

Salary: £45,000 (DEO)

The Role

As a Trailer Fitter, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of trailers, ensuring they meet DVSA standards.

Key Responsibilities as a Trailer Fitter:
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailers
  • Diagnose and fix issues with brakes, suspension, lighting, bodywork and other components
  • Conduct welding and fabrication work when necessary
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Fitter / Trailer Technician / Trailer Fitter or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of trailer components and repair techniques
  • Must have experience working on commercial vehicles
  • Welding and fabrication experience (preferred but not required)
  • Must have own tools
  • A valid HGV driver's license (is a plus)
