Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer for a 6-month contract in Bolton. The role involves creating tooling solutions, developing technical requirements, and using PTC Creo for mechanical design. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical design and be able to work with industry-standard CAD packages. This position offers a competitive rate within an established defence and aerospace company.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Tools Design required.

  • Demonstrable mechanical design and development experience.

Tooling Design Engineer

6 month contract

Based in Bolton

Offering £50ph Inside IR35

As the Tooling Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

You will be involved in:
  • Creating Tooling solutions on a wide variety of projects
  • Development of technical requirements
  • Creation of concept designs
  • Organising design/peer reviews
  • Managing workload and priorities
  • Completion of detailed design
  • Interfacing with the definition team to create 2-D drawings
  • Publication of all CAD data
Your skillset may include:
  • Demonstrable experience in Mechanical design and development using appropriate engineering tools and techniques
  • High level of capability in the use of industry-standard 3D CAD packages such as PTC Creo
  • Experience operating in an environment employing development techniques such as FMEA, DFA, DFM etc...
  • Experience developing manufacturing tooling and mechanical handling equipment from initial concept to production of 2D drawings
  • Ability to understand the customer needs to develop a design solution
