Job description
Senior Therapeutic Radiographer

We are seeking a Senior Therapeutic Radiographer to join our friendly, multi-professional radiotherapy team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. Torbay offers a range of techniques, including Lung and Bone SABR, and is actively engaged in research with both commercial and non-commercial trials.

You will join us at an exciting time, as we are commissioning and installing SGRT on our linacs and RT-CT scanner. Additionally, we are working towards implementing a new electronic patient record system, scheduled to go live in 2026.

Our team is caring, committed, and innovative, located in beautiful South Devon. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Working as part of a team on linear accelerators to provide safe and accurate radiotherapy treatment.
  2. Rotating through pre-treatment procedures, including RT-CT and pre-treatment data entry.
  3. Providing safe and accurate radiotherapy planning and treatment across a broad range of tumour sites.
  4. Supporting the team leader in managing patient workflow and clinical workload organization.
  5. Working flexibly according to service demands.
  6. Delivering exceptional patient care at all times.

Our department features two matched Elekta VERSA Linacs, Mosaiq Oncology Management System, Pinnacle Treatment Planning System, Limbus AI software, and a Canon Aquilion CT Scanner installed in 2024. We actively participate in clinical trials and have a team of independent prescribers, including radiographers specialized in urology and colorectal/gynae.

Future plans include implementing SGRT in Summer 2025, upgrading Mosaiq by the end of 2025, deploying EPIC in Spring 2026, and selecting a new Treatment Planning System. Long-term, we are preparing for back-to-back Linac replacement programs.

We are part of the first fully integrated care organization in England, committed to delivering safe, high-quality health and social care. We foster a positive, vibrant working environment and invest in staff development. We support family members or friends with health or care needs through flexible working policies and a Carer's Passport scheme.
