Territory Sales Manager – Aggregates

Regio: South Wales (Caerphilly)
Salary: £48,000 + bonus + company car

We are looking for a driven and commercially focused Territory Sales Manager (TSM) to lead a portfolio of customer accounts across the South Wales region. This is a key role responsible for growing market share, revenue and profitability while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The successful candidate will implement an effective territory sales strategy, build long‑term customer relationships, and identify opportunities to grow our Aggregates business through targeted sales activity, value‑add solutions and strong market insight.

Key Responsibilities
Customer & Territory Management
  • Operate as the main point of contact for assigned customers across the region.
  • Execute structured call cycles for both customers and prospects, using face‑to‑face meetings and digital channels (including video calls).
  • Maintain accurate objectives in the Customer Management Plan (CMP).
  • Develop long‑term commercial relationships supported by a robust customer strategy aligned with the Market Strategy Plan (MSP).
  • Coordinate with sales, operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Sales Growth & Opportunity Development
  • Identify opportunities to grow business with new and existing customers in line with the regional and product line strategy.
  • Drive increased share of wallet through effective upselling and cross‑selling at the required profitability level.
  • Proactively use market data (including ABI) to identify profitable opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of quotes and tender submissions.
  • Actively contribute to annual sales budgets and forecasts for the territory.
Performance, Reporting & Data Accuracy
  • Forecast, track and report on customer account performance and KPIs.
  • Ensure customer queries are resolved within the defined timeframe, aligning with the Heidelberg Materials target.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, transactions and plans (Brick Wall, CMP, 5‑Minute Planner).
  • Ensure CRM and SAP records are kept accurate and fully up to date.
  • Collaborate with colleagues managing the same accounts to ensure consistency of service.
Customer Project Support
  • Manage projects within customer relationships, balancing customer goals with company objectives.
  • Communicate market and customer insights to support business alignment and strategic decision‑making.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong background in Aggregates sales, construction materials sales, or a similar industrial sector.
  • Proven track record in territory sales, account management or business development.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of pricing, margin and profitability.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Confident using digital tools, CRM systems and data sources to support structured sales activity.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present, negotiate and close opportunities.
