Job summary

A charitable organization in Plymouth is seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to support vulnerable clients in maintaining their licenses and tenancies. You will collaborate with colleagues to address housing issues, ensure clients access necessary services, and take appropriate actions on breaches of agreements. The ideal candidate should be motivated to help others and knowledgeable about the challenges faced by the homeless.

The Salvation Army forms part of the Christian church and boasts an extensive social remit, providing a range of social and community services, including services for children and the elderly, those trapped in modern-day slavery, homeless people, individuals struggling with addiction, and people seeking employment.

Key Responsibilities

The role of Tenancy Sustainment Officer with the Salvation Army is an inspirational one and key to achieving successful outcomes for our vulnerable clients. The purpose of the role is to work collaboratively with support colleagues to ensure that licensees / tenants can maintain their licence and tenancies and can access services, taking appropriate action on breaches of licence agreements / tenancies, including antisocial behaviour, and to maximise outcomes for tenants and The Salvation Army.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate :
  • Level 3 qualification in related field or willingness to work towards it.
  • Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, be solution focused, show good time management skills and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure.
  • Motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes.
