Job description

Our client provides comprehensive fund administration services in Jersey, catering to a diverse range of clients within the Global Private Capital Services sector. This role is designed for a Senior Fund Accountant to manage the meticulous accounting and administration of both closed and open-ended investment companies, as well as unit trusts and limited partnerships, primarily for private equity, property, and infrastructure funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate preparation of management accounts and financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS. They will also act as the first point of contact for certain client relationships, ensuring excellent client service and fostering strong connections. This is a six-month temporary contract position that requires the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively. The successful candidate will be expected to deal with annual audits and client queries while ensuring compliance with all relevant documentation and internal procedures. Job Duties:
  • Preparation and oversight of monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
  • Preparation and oversight of annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS
  • Management of key deliverables in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Calculation of management fees, carried interest, distribution amounts, and waterfall calculations
  • Handling year-end audits and addressing auditor queries
  • Ensuring compliance with client documentation and internal processes
  • Responding to and investigating client queries
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects as required
  • Attending client meetings and assisting in proposal document preparation and pitches for new work
  • Developing and implementing procedures while seeking continual improvement
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments in the fund industry
  • Coaching, mentoring, and managing junior staff according to HR policies
Job Requirements:
  • Professionally qualified, ideally ACA, ACCA, or equivalent
  • Ability to prepare final accounts from source documentation
  • Familiarity with Jersey fund structures and regulatory requirements
  • Completer/finisher mentality-ability to see tasks through to completion
  • Strong prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff
  • Excellent motivational and presentation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS preferred, although training will be provided
  • Knowledge of private equity, property, and infrastructure funds is advantageous
