Overview

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT L1 – MATERNITY COVER. TEMPORARY POST (Until July 2026). Starting: 28th October 2025. Netherhall Mead is a very effective, well-resourced special school for pupils aged 4-19 years who have severe & profound learning difficulties.

The school is seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant working 32½ hours per week for 39 weeks (school term time + 5 training days). The position is temporary, with the potential to become permanent, subject to the needs of the school.

Contract and terms
  • Salary: Grade Band 4, Points 7 - 10, £20,168 - £21,499 pro-rata.
  • Hours: 32½ hours per week
  • Term: 39 weeks (term time + 5 training days)
  • Status: Temporary with potential to become permanent, subject to school needs
  • Starting: 28 October 2025
About the role

The successful candidate will have good basic education. Previous experience of working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential.
