Overview
Technical Manager — Location: Greater Manchester • Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Policy Implementation: Ensure all central Food Safety & Quality (FSAQ) policies and procedures are effectively implemented at the site level.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily technical operations, maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Expert Guidance: Act as the subject matter expert for technical matters at the site, providing necessary guidance and support.
- Incident Management: Lead the initial response to technical incidents, ensuring timely investigation, documentation, and corrective actions.
- Audit Preparation: Maintain site readiness for internal and external audits, coordinating with central teams as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive local improvement initiatives in alignment with central strategies.
- Reporting: Regularly update site leadership and the central FSAQ team on progress and challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of relevant UK and EU legislation, BRC, and RSPO standards.
- Proficient in HACCP (minimum Level 3).
- Strong understanding of GMP procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and independently.
- Clean driver’s licence and willingness to work overtime occasionally.
