Role / Description

SRG are working with a well-established waste management and environmental services company. We are looking for an experienced Technical Assessor/Senior Technical Assessor. The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance, safety and classification of waste following relevant regulatory guidelines. 1+ years experience as a technical assessor or site chemist in the waste industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical assessments of waste management operations to ensure compliance with environmental and industry regulations.
• Qualify and classify chemicals, report and analyse waste streams to determine on‑site treatment and transfers.
• Identify and assign cost‑effective treatment and processing routes.
• Evaluate applications for permits, accreditations or certifications related to waste processing, recycling and disposal.
• Provide expert advice on waste classification, handling, treatment and disposal methods.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients and internal teams to ensure consistent interpretation of waste legislation and best practices.
• Analyse information to determine waste transportation methods (ADR/IMDG regs).
• Work alongside the technical team, management, sales and chemists to facilitate smooth running of inbound and outbound waste streams.
• Provide technical advice, support and guidance internally and externally.

Requirements

• Minimum HNC or relevant degree in Chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science or similar with significant chemistry content.
• Recent experience working as a technical assessor or a site chemist in the waste industry.
• DGSA, IOSH and IMDG preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of ADR, WM3 and other waste regulations.
