Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen, and Devon County Council are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Team Manager to lead our dedicated team in delivering high-quality services to individuals across the Moor to Sea area.

The Role

As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our team of experienced social workers, occupational therapists, and social care assessors.

The role will require you to manage a team of practitioners who undertake varied caseloads which include care and support needs assessments, moving and handling assessments, mental capacity assessments, management of risk, safeguarding enquiries and court work.

You will supervise practitioners and support them to promote independence and apply an asset-based approach which seeks to optimise opportunities for people to reduce and delay their need for formal care and support.

You will have experience in safeguarding adults and as the Team Manager will lead safeguarding enquiries in accordance with organisational policy and guidance.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our clients receive the support they need to thrive, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and contribute to the success of the Moor to Sea Health and Social Care team and Devon County Council as an organisation.

In return, you will join an excellent team and receive high levels of support from your Community Services Manager and Advanced Social Worker, as well as the wider leadership team in Moor to Sea; Community Nursing, and Intermediate Care Operational leads, and Clinical Leads.

Moor to Sea is part of the wider South Devon patch who neighbour and border with Coastal and Newton Abbot Health and Social Care Teams.

We are comprised of a team of colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds including Social Work, Occupational Therapy and non-professionally registered staff.

We have a diverse demographic, and the team supports work with adults of working age with a physical and/ or learning disability including transition to adulthood, older persons with physical disabilities and/ or mental health, including dementia, and carers.

About You

You must be a registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Nurse with experience working in Adult Social Care.

You will have some leadership experience in supervising or managing others. You will be able to demonstrate your legal literacy, including knowledge and experience of working to the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act. Experience of court work is an advantage.
