Overview

Team Manager - Culture, 35 hours per week, Permanent

Education, Communities and Housing – Leisure and Culture

Salary: £46,365 - £49,157 / £25.41 - £26.94 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the management of and oversee all areas of the Council's Cultural services including Arts development, Museums service, Heritage development and St Magnus Cathedral and coordinate strategy, policy and planning across Cultural services.
  • Demonstrate a proven record and relevant experience in budget control and managing a dispersed staff team across a wide range of facilities and service areas.
  • Apply detailed knowledge and experience of sectoral standards surrounding Cultural services provision including the Museums Association code of ethics; understand opportunities and challenges faced by rural and island communities in relation to Cultural services (advantageous).
Qualifications and requirements
  • Qualification at SCQF 8/9 (e.g., SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship) in a subject relevant to the role or a minimum of 5 years of previous relevant experience (as detailed in the person specification).
  • Associateship of the Museums Association is desirable.
  • This post requires Level 1 Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
