Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Team Leader to join our Endoscopy team. The post holder should have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be enthusiastic and committed to leading and supporting the administrative staff. Responsibilities include managing recruitment, addressing performance issues, monitoring waiting times, allocating work, and managing staff absences. The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the department, lead the Endoscopy administrative team, and work with the Assistant Directorate Manager to ensure a positive working environment where every team member can contribute and develop.

Job Responsibilities

To plan day-to-day workload and ensure tasks are carried out efficiently within required timescales, adapting to the evolving needs of the service. Monitor waiting times within the service. Lead on the team’s administrative systems and processes and implement improvements on an ongoing basis. Provide a comprehensive administration service to Consultants and support teams. Ensure clinical correspondence is produced and distributed within acceptable timescales. Hold and chair regular team meetings, conduct regular 1:1s, participate in administrative team meetings, service development meetings, and other relevant meetings across sites as required. Manage recruitment and selection.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Educated to a degree level with experience in Administration
  • Essential: A Level or NVQ level 4 in business administration or equivalent

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of Cancer and DM01 performance targets

Knowledge

  • Essential: Experience of managing and supervising groups of staff
  • Essential: Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Essential: Excellent word-processing and spreadsheet skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable

  • Experience of using Epic IT system
