Supply Teaching Assistant - Special Needs School

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Supply Teaching Assistant to join our "Outstanding" Ofsted-rated special needs school. This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team and make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils with complex and severe learning needs.

About the Role

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to our teaching staff and pupils. You will assist in delivering a highly personalised curriculum, helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. Your experience in working with students with special educational needs is essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with complex and severe learning needs (ages 4-19) on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

  • Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.

  • Provide personal care and support where needed.

  • Contribute to the well-being and development of our pupils.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) is essential.

  • Knowledge of various special educational needs is highly desirable.

  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
