Teaching Assistant – Special School – Solihull

A welcoming special school in Solihull is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team, working with children who have a range of special educational needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide both 1-2-1 and small group support. Pupils have a range of needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and complex needs, and you will play a key role in helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop important social and life skills. The school offers excellent facilities and a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs on a 1-2-1 and small group basis.
  • Assisting the class teacher with delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Helping pupils with communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Promoting independence and confidence in learning and daily activities.
  • Supporting with personal care needs where required.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Qualifications and Skills
