We seek an enthusiastic and well‑qualified graduate who has the ability to teach one or more Science subjects. The post is suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT; we welcome applications from teachers who can also teach an additional subject and/or who have other skills and experience to offer.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate excellent planning, teaching and assessment skills and have high expectations, excellent classroom management skills, strong pastoral skills and the ability to motivate, encourage and inspire pupils. You will be expected to play a full and positive part in the life of the School.
The Science and Technology Department consists of six teachers, managed by the Head of Science and Technology. It is housed in its own newly improved teaching block with generous lab space, interactive whiteboards and excellent resources. Classes in Years 7 and 8 are taught all three Sciences by one teacher, and from Years 9 to 11 are set by ability and receive separate lessons for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The department follows the AQA GCSE syllabus and AQA for A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
