The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Geography to join our Humanities faculty. As a Geography Teacher, you\u2019ll be instrumental in developing students\u2019 understanding of the world, fostering their curiosity, and building their analytical skills through an exploration of the subject. The role involves delivering high-quality lessons that encourage a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, environments, and global issues, while supporting students in developing their research and critical thinking abilities. You will work closely with the Head of Department and wider team to plan, deliver and assess an engaging and contemporary curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to students aged 11-18 across the full ability range.
  • Plan and assess a contemporary Geography curriculum in collaboration with the Head of Department and colleagues.
  • Promote curiosity, critical thinking and research skills through the study of geographical concepts and global issues.
What We\u2019re Looking For
  • A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
  • Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 age range, with first class classroom management skills
  • The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
  • Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
  • A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
  • The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
  • A clear commitment to improving your own and others\u2019 performance through effective continuous professional development
