Contract: Maternity Cover (up to one year) – from April or September 2026.

Role Overview

A dynamic classroom practitioner to teach French from Year 9 through to A‑Level and IB Higher Level in a well‑resourced and academically ambitious department. The ability to offer an additional language is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging French lessons to pupils of all ages and abilities.
  • Plan and assess curriculum for Year 9‑12, A-Level, and IB Higher Level.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the boarding school.
  • Work collaboratively within the Modern Foreign Languages team.

  • Experienced teacher or newly qualified teacher with exceptional classroom ability and strong subject knowledge.
  • Willingness to motivate pupils and strengthen the department.
About the Modern Foreign Languages Department

The department at St Edward's is a vibrant and forward‑thinking team of 13 full‑time teachers, passionate about inspiring pupils to embrace the joy and value of languages. French, German, and Spanish form the core curriculum, while Italian, Mandarin, and Russian are offered as extra‑curricular languages.
