Teacher of Business Education, Bathgate Academy, 35 hours per week, 47 weeks per year, fixed term until 13 April 2026

Bathgate Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Teacher of Business Education. Bathgate Academy is a comprehensive non-denominational school serving a cluster of five primary schools. The school roll is currently 1180 and rising due to housing developments and growing community confidence in the standard of education provided. The successful candidate will:

  • have the necessary experience to assist in taking forward the principles of Curriculum for Excellence to support young people and the improvement agenda of the faculty, school and authority; and
  • support the vision of the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision.
Qualifications

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.

Protected Groups and PVG

This post is Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment, and the cost will be met by the candidate. The current fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Members pay £18.
