Reporting to: Assistant Principal Sixth Form
Salary: £29,565 - £43,562 per annum(subject to a progression criteria)*
Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays
Contractual hours: 37 hours per week
Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum
Basis: Permanent, Full Time
Pension: Teachers Pension Scheme
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sociology and Criminology Lecturer to join our team at MC6, Middlesbrough College’s thriving Sixth Form Centre. In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across AQA A Level Sociology and the WJEC Diploma in Criminology, inspiring students to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need for success in education, life, and work. You will play a vital role in helping learners achieve their full academic potential and progress to higher education, training, or employment.
MC6 offers an extensive curriculum with a broad range of A Levels and Vocational Equivalents as part of our popular ‘Mix-It Up’ study programme. We also deliver full-time programmes in Applied Science and Forensic & Criminal Investigation, alongside adult courses in Access to HE. Our purpose-built environment on the Middlesbrough College campus provides students with a fantastic space to study, socialise, and develop new skills to help them progress.

turer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
