Job summary

A leading defense contractor in the UK is seeking a Systems Engineering Lead for their Submarines Production Alliance. The candidate will be involved in the platform team with responsibilities including reviewing engineering plans, offering advice on systems transformation, and leading modelling strategies. This role requires a strong communicator who works well in multidisciplinary environments. A UK Security Check clearance is mandatory, and preference is given to those with a chartered engineer status. Closing date is 23rd November 2025.

Systems Engineering Lead

Rolls‑Royce has an exciting second‑ment opportunity working as a Systems Engineering Lead for the Submarines Production Alliance. The team will be based in Derby but will require travel for 1 week per month.

The successful candidate will be embedded into the platform team working directly for the Engineering Governance Manager.

What you will be doing
  • Review with IPs and revise SSNA Systems Engineering Management Plan
  • Support and advise on Systems Engineering Transformation in BAES and manage corresponding changes required in SDA
  • Provide SME to SDA on architecture aspects of the design and MBSE
  • Liaison with MBSE stakeholders to ensure SDA coherence including Combat Systems and operational scenarios SMEs
  • Lead for developing SSNA modelling and simulation strategy
