The Vacancy
  • Annual salary of £51,000 (FTE)
  • Permanent role
  • Full-time (35 hours), part-time and flexible working patterns available
  • Liverpool city centre office base, hybrid working

The role

As a Systems Accountant you will ensure the Group's accounting and finance systems, and the associated feeder systems, are robust and accurate so that the finance team can always produce timely and reliable financial information and reports.

You would be responsible for identifying improvements to ensure efficient and effective systems are in place, this includes ensuring they are up to date with latest releases and software updates. The person in this role would be expected to take the lead in designing and improving the technology plan for the Finance function and identifying areas of efficiency and improvement.

We would like you to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with our finance system providers as you would be the main point of contact for the Group.

The right fit
  • You must be CCAB qualified or experienced to the equivalent level.
  • You have a strong knowledge of financial systems and associated feeder systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support finance-related projects, including system upgrades, process improvements, and integrations.
  • High level of IT skill in Microsoft Office products is essential.
  • Ability to understand, explain and present complex technical ideas to all audiences.
  • Understanding of accounting terminology, audit and internal control standards.
  • Understanding of housing association finance, regulatory requirements, and rent accounting processes.
  • Strong skills in producing financial reports, dashboards, and data analytics using tools like Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience in supporting organisational change and training staff on new systems and processes.
  • You're able to identify and resolve problems pragmatically.
  • You have experience of successful project delivery to time and budget with evidence of process or systems development.
