Job summary

A leading underwriting firm is seeking a seasoned Underwriter to support the approval and monitoring of business plans. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance and profitability. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in both hard and soft markets, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of portfolio P&L drivers.

The Role

• Support approval & monitoring of Business Plans (including mid- year updates)
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance and profitability
• Use an analyse detailed UW data to inform decisions
• Collaborate with a team of 9 - replacing someone from an UW background
• Managing UWing/Profit and Loss
• Serve as the lead day to day contact for UWing matters

What They're Looking For

• Must be a seasoned Underwriter (company or Lloyd's market)
• Direct experience in both hard & soft markets
• Any class of business (direct or reinsurance)
• Strong understanding of portfolio P&L drivers
• Confidence to challenge and influence CUOs and other senior leaders
• Excellent communicator and strategic thinker
