Overview

The Role: This post offers an exciting opportunity to enter the leisure industry. Award winning Salt Ayre Leisure Centre offers a swimming experience with the latest fitness and training equipment, indoor and outdoor climbing facilities, an immersive spinning studio and a dedicated training zone. Your role will be to deliver Swimming Lessons within our Salt Ayre Sharks Learn to Swim Programme and Education Swim Programme. You will also deliver other swimming related activities during school holidays. Some work will include visits to external organizations to educate and raise awareness of water safety and promote the Centre’s activities.

The ability to obtain an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential. This post is permanent and the hours are 4.5 hours per week, covering classes during the week and at weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Swimming Lessons within the Salt Ayre Sharks Learn to Swim Programme and Education Swim Programme.
• Deliver other swimming related activities during school holidays.
• Visit external organizations to educate and raise awareness of water safety and promote Centre activities.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Essential: Enhanced DBS clearance.
• SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification; on completion, the role holder will move to Grade 7 and use own judgement to resolve problems not covered by procedures.
• Appointment to Grade 6 (£25,185 - £26,403 per annum pro rata).
• May be required to mentor Level 1 swimming teachers.
• Part-time: 4.5 hours per week, permanent role, with duties across weekdays and weekends.
