Overview

Sustainability Consultant
Location: Oxford
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 plus DOE

A multi-award winning engineering consultancy is seeking a driven and passionate Sustainability Consultant to join their team in Oxford. You will be responsible for delivering environmental and wellbeing assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.) from early design through to completion and post-construction stages.

Responsibilities
  • Embodied carbon calculations and circular economy consultancy
  • Building performance simulations, including operational energy forecasting and overheating analysis
  • Collaborate closely with clients to develop and implement innovative sustainability and energy strategies for both new and existing developments
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior team members by sharing expertise in consultancy, workstream management, and project planning
  • Participate in R&D initiatives that keep the firm at the forefront of the industry, including opportunities to engage in sector-wide research, contribute to best practice guidance, and shape industry standards
Qualifications
  • Experience working within the built environment sector, ideally in a sustainability or engineering consultancy
  • A relevant degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline
  • A strong technical foundation paired with a passion for sustainable design and innovation
  • Knowledge and experience in; Energy Performance Modelling (IES VE), Whole Life Carbon Assessments (embodied carbon, OneClick LCA), Net Zero Carbon Strategies, Environmental and Wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL) and Circular Economy Principles
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
