Job Title: Support workers

Pay rate: £98-£108 per day (Depending on experience)

Can you offer the patience and understanding needed to guide pupils with additional challenges?

GSL Education are appointing dedicated Support Workers to partner with schools across the Rotherham region, providing personalised care and guidance for pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and other disabilities.

In this role, Support Workers will collaborate with teachers and SEN teams to help pupils access learning, build independence, and engage fully in school life, while fostering a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for learners with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with complex needs.
  • Assist with personal care, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Support learning activities and help pupils engage with the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and social skills among pupils.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as Support Workers with children or young people with complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, SLD, or disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
