We are looking for someone to join our amazing supported living team based in Northallerton on a Part time, permanent basis 30hrs per week. Shifts will be Monday to Friday, they may include weekends and bank holidays.

About our Service

We support three active gentlemen aged between 60-68 who have a learning disability and are great friends. They all live independent, fun and active lifestyles. It is a busy home, from going on days out, train spotting, socialising, and seeing friends.

What does a Support Worker do?
  • Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Excellent communication skills and Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy.
