We're looking for Support Workers to join our close-knit team in Shrewsbury, supporting two gentlemen in their 60s and 70s who live with autism, dysphasia, and learning disabilities. If you're caring, outgoing, and great at spotting the little things that make a big difference, this could be the perfect role for you.
Who Will You Be Supporting?
- Two men with unique personalities and communication styles
- One gentleman uses additional signs of communication and loves chatting about his interests
- Both enjoy engaging activities and benefit from encouragement for outings and social opportunities
Their Interests Include:
- Listening to Elvis
- Watching TV and Western films
- Friendly conversations and engaging with staff
Your Role
You’ll provide 1:1 and 2:1 support, helping each person live life to the fullest.
Responsibilities
- Personal care for one individual
- Supporting mobility needs for one gentleman
- Meal preparation and medication administration
- Encouraging independence and community engagement
- Spotting signs of communication and responding with empathy
- Someone bubbly, empathetic, and caring
- Proactive with good initiative
- Comfortable with lone working (Experience in care helpful)
- Driver with auto-friendly licence and business insurance
Shift Details
- 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (next day) including sleep-in
- Sleep-in shifts: 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM (paid to sleep)
