Job summary

A community support organization in Peterhead is looking for dedicated individuals to provide night support for individuals with physical and learning difficulties. No prior experience is necessary, as all training will be provided, including funding for the SVQ qualification. Job description
Shift Patterns

This role will involve working one or two waking night shifts per week between the hours of 21:30‑07:30, including weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. Waking night shifts are paid at a normal hourly rate, plus an additional payment of £20 per night. You must also be flexible enough to attend training sessions and build relationships with the individuals we support during the day, as occasional day shifts may form part of your rota.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support throughout the night to five individuals with physical and learning difficulties, primarily as lone worker;
  • Ensuring that the individuals have access to support and assistance when needed during the night;
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and housekeeping, including ironing;
  • Conducting health & safety checks;
  • Managing finances and providing administrative support.
About You

You do not need experience to be considered; we recruit on values and provide all the training required. We will fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your annual SSSC registration fees.

We require you to be able to commute to and from our service as transport links to the site are limited.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare, supported by our Training Academy. You will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.

If you have spent more than 12 months out of the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) in the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.
