What you'll be doing

  • Apply ex-operator knowledge to assess and analyse system designs, diagrams, and data, ensuring technical accuracy and robust maintenance outputs.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to colleagues across the engineering team.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and contribute to collaborative working groups for maintenance design.
  • Estimate scope, resources, and costs to support bids, proposals, and project planning.
  • Ensure all work aligns with Quality and SH&E Management Systems.
Experience required
Essential:
  • Background as a submarine nuclear operator or maintainer.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Understanding of the complete engineering lifecycle, with experience in multiple lifecycle phases.
  • Extensive knowledge of ship systems and how they integrate with ILS and safety.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with Ministry of Defence (MoD), industry, and corporate standards.
