Overview
Department: Purchasing & Planning
Location: Office, Avonmouth/Filton
Ensure the availability of finished goods to fulfil Customer demand, through active management of Inventory and Supply Plans with a specific focus on NPD.
Responsibilities
- Supply Planning - Manage (1-18 months) supply plans with a selection of Products & Suppliers.
- Monitor changes to supply plans and determine their impact on finished goods availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory variances with supply plan, identify root causes and possible solutions for any risks to supply.
- Review and optimise inventory settings inline with current needs.
- Manage and take action to mitigate out of stock/supply risks.
- Communicate supply risks to Planning colleagues.
- Manage and mitigate Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and high-quality service.
- Negotiate with Vendors on costs and lead-times for specified products.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs and service level agreements, addressing any deviations proactively.
- Manage Purchase Orders, ensuring these are aligned with Supply Plan.
- Liaise with Inbound Team to resolve delivery discrepancies and Accounts for Invoice Discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product master data in all systems, including item descriptions, units of measure, weights & dimensions, sourcing information and other critical attributes in compliance with data governance standards.
- New Products - Manage Critical Paths for New Product Launches, ensuring relevant teams are maintaining/updating as project progresses.
- Identify and communicate any risk/opportunities within Critical Paths.
- Review and recommend Inventory policy for New Product Launches.
- Ensure supply plans are in place for the first year post launch.
- Negotiate with Vendors on production volumes, pricing and componentry holding.
- Other - Contribute to special projects and other supply chain and business strategy initiatives.
- Support implementation of new systems and technology (e.g. Advanced Planning System (APS)).
- Sustainability Responsibility - Ensure all duties carried out and actions completed in every aspect of your role, contribute to the short and long-term Sustainability Goals set forth by the ELEMIS - Climate, Biodiversity & People Pillars.
Qualifications
- Good level/standard of UK/European education or equivalent.
- Educated to Degree level or similar level of work experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into supply plans.
- Ability to use technology tools that facilitate cross-functional collaboration. (Training will be provided.)
- Motivated to drive business results.
- Previous experience building relationships, negotiating and collaborating with Vendors.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Well-organised and high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of communicating to different levels in the organisation.
- Ability to work within high performing teams and is highly collaborative.
- Focus on both short-term results and long-term goals.
- Experience within FMCG, preferred.
- Self-motivator with the ability to take a pro-active approach.
