Healthcare at HMP Ranby provides the chance to make a difference for people who historically have had high psychiatric and social morbidity but face barriers to accessing appropriate healthcare.
You will provide high quality patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for people with substance misuse problems, working across harm reduction and health promotion / recovery agendas.

The Offender Health Care Group is among the largest prison healthcare providers in the UK and delivers physical, mental health and substance misuse services in prisons across the East Midlands, Lincolnshire & Leicestershire. The Care Group includes 7 prisons and a short-term holding facility, within a peer network of 400+ healthcare professionals with access to supervision and learning opportunities. We also offer services within the Personality Disorder Pathway, including Therapeutic Communities (in prisons), Community and Prison Personality Disorder services and specialist Veteran Services.
We are committed to partnering with prison services, national probation, other healthcare providers and criminal justice partners to reduce re-offending and improve health outcomes, offering care equivalent to health services delivered outside of prison.
To assist in the provision of solid substance misuse health services for prisoners, meeting standards such as Key Performance Indicators and Prison Health Performance Indicators, while delivering value for money.
Please note applicants are required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary after appointment: DBS application £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced). The DBS Update Service is optional with an annual fee of £16.
