A respected educational institution in Manchester is seeking a Student Success Tutor to support student retention and satisfaction. The role involves engaging with students, providing academic assistance, and developing tailored support strategies. UK Management College is looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to join our team as the Student Success Tutor.
Our business is growing rapidly, and as such, we are excited to bring on board someone who will form a vital part of the success of our students. As this is a role in which you will be dealing with students face to face, this is an office-based role on our new campus in Manchester. No two days will be the same at UKMC, it will be busy and very fast paced. Your role will be to assist students ensuring they are supported and dealt with fairly, efficiently, and with optimum results.
The Student Success Tutor will mainly focus on student retention and satisfaction by providing excellent first-hand support for their academic needs. This is a student-centered role designed to coordinate the varied needs of students studying in our programs. It may include the delivery of workshops and other teaching-related activities.
The selected candidate will also be responsible for communicating with students on a regular basis with a problem-solving and pre-emptive attitude to provide them with confidence regarding their study journey here at UKMC. The Student Success Tutor will act as an advisor for students and will guide and direct them in the right direction. They will work as a bridge between students, teaching staff and the admissions team.
The position holder will provide the necessary support to students in terms of their academic needs, and questions, and, if required, arrange one-to-one sessions with students to clarify any problems or questions they might have. The position holder will support the students in terms of their submission deadlines, and links, as well as clarify the aspects of mitigating circumstances. If students need additional support, the position holder will speak to the student service/support team as well as the senior academic team for clear guidance on the support required. The position holder will ensure students receive the support required for their academic development and maintain student retention.
Bachelor's degree from any UK recognised university and minimum 1 year of experience in working at any HEI environment in teaching or academic support role.
A clear idea about how the academic team works.
Good understanding of current practice and developments in own discipline.
Understanding of evidence-led/practice-based teaching and its implementation in teaching and learning practice.
Able to work as part of a team and independently as required.
Able to coordinate and prioritise a range of activities effectively.
The candidate must be flexible, approachable, and helpful with a strong customer service ethic as well as willing to go the extra mile to provide the best environment and support to the students.
Experience in tutoring and/or providing support for the academic experience of students.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Collegiate approach to work.
Ability to work effectively and courteously in a team of academic staff.
Ability to adapt to a flexible approach to the demands of a busy college/department in order to accommodate changes in priorities when required.

The post holder must promptly undertake the required training necessary for the role as well as any institutional training required.
