The Role

Thornton Tomasetti’s London office is seeking talented and enthusiastic engineers with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join our growing data centre / mission‑critical team.

Due to our growing workload in this sector, we are seeking senior project engineers to support and help grow this team. The project work is global, and at a variety of design stages. For the right candidate, the role presents exciting opportunities for advancement. As well as the data centre and mission critical work, there will be opportunities to get involved in other major projects, across a variety of sectors (including commercial, residential, cultural and sports) in the City of London, mainland Europe and the Middle East.

Candidates should be working towards Chartership with either the ICE or IStructE routes. For the right candidate, the role offers exciting opportunities to grow and develop their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis, design and detailing for all types of buildings and materials using a variety of building codes.
• Coordination of design work with in‑house staff across multiple offices, as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
• Communicate with clients and other design professionals to understand project requirements.
• Role may involve some travel within the UK and abroad.

Requirements

• Degree (Master’s or equivalent preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
• Strong technical skills.
• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and graphical / sketches.
• Working knowledge preferred of current industry software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3‑D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper and Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience.
