As a Store Planning Manager - Trading Projects, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ASDA’s store estate. Working within the Store Development team, you’ll be at the centre of how we plan, optimise, and evolve our in-store environments, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers today while anticipating the demands of tomorrow. You will lead the planning and execution of some of our most important trading initiatives – from existing space updates to new service propositions – translating business strategy into clear, actionable store plans. This means collaborating across multiple teams, transforming data and insight into compelling layouts, and driving projects that directly enhance the customer and colleague experience. A key part of your role will be to ensure that store spaces are used brilliantly and effectively. You’ll balance commercial ambition with operational reality, making smart decisions that maximise sales, improve flow, and support category growth. You’ll maintain accuracy across our store plans, lead discretionary space planning, and be a champion for retail‑first thinking across every plan and project. You’ll also be responsible for upholding strong governance around space, assets, and layout changes – ensuring clarity, consistency, and robust decision‑making across the estate. Through excellent communication, problem‑solving, and your ability to “join the dots”, you will enable cross‑functional teams to deliver at pace and with confidence.
To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in our Home Office in Leeds. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
Everything you’ll love:
