Job summary

About The Role

As a Stock Condition Surveyor, you will play a key part in supporting the effective delivery of our asset management strategy. Your role will involve carrying out stock condition surveys across occupied and void properties, as well as communal areas, using handheld data capture equipment. You will also conduct Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys, either as part of a wider stock condition survey or as standalone inspections.

Working closely with the Asset Analyst, you will contribute to the design of surveys for a variety of property types, ensuring data is collected accurately and efficiently. You will also assist in the ongoing development of the asset management database, helping to maintain the integrity of our in‑house systems. This is a hands‑on role that requires attention to detail, technical knowledge, and a commitment to supporting the wider asset management team.

  • Carry out stock condition surveys across occupied and void properties and communal areas using handheld data capture equipment.
  • Conduct HHSRS surveys as part of a wider stock condition survey or as standalone inspections.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Analyst to design surveys for various property types and ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the asset management database and in‑house systems.
  • Apply attention to detail, technical knowledge, and a collaborative approach to support the asset management team.
About you

You will bring a strong background in surveying or property inspection, ideally supported by an HNC or equivalent qualification in a surveying related subject. Experience of working with asset management databases and knowledge of common building defects will be essential. You should be confident in applying your expertise within residential property, maintenance works, and planned maintenance fields.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with customers, surveyors, planners, and colleagues across the business.
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage a varied workload, and demonstrate good administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A clean driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle for travel to properties.
  • Knowledge of HHSRS, the Decent Homes Standard, and Awaab’s Law is advantageous.

The successful applicant will require a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
