Overview

Care Assistant position in Stevenage. Salary: 13.65 – 14.25 per hour. Hours: shift patterns available.

Responsibilities

• Show up with a smile to provide companionship and build trust with customers.
• Assist clients who need help getting up and going to bed in the morning and evenings, including dressing, washing, bathing and using the toilet.
• Help clients with mobility and with any physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of personal aids and equipment.
• Care for clients who are temporarily sick and need bed nursing and help with feeding.
• Provide care and support for clients who are terminally ill.
• Promote mental and physical activities through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
• Make and change beds, light cleaning, empty commodes and general tidying.
• Inspect, launder and mend clients’ clothes.
• Set tables and trays, prepare and serve light meals, and clean up afterward.
• Read and write reports and be involved in clients’ reviews and training activities.
• Adhere to all Caremark policies and procedures at all times.
• Report any significant changes in a client’s health or circumstances to the Field Care Supervisor or Care Manager.
• Encourage the independence of clients wherever possible.
