Statutory Reporting Accountant | £65k-£70k+bonus | Hybrid | South Manchester | AIM listed business

Axon Moore is pleased to be partnering with a long-standing client that is seeking to appoint an ACA-qualified accountant to its team. Reporting directly to a high-calibre Head of Finance, this role would suit someone stepping into their second role in industry or a practice-trained accountant at Manager level looking to make their first move into industry.

The position will take ownership of year-end consolidation and annual reporting within a PLC environment. Beyond the year-end cycle, there is a strong opportunity to gain exposure across a wide range of financial controls and processes.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage year-end consolidation and annual reporting for the PLC and UK subsidiaries.
  • Annual review of impairment assessment and intangibles.
  • Preparation of unaudited interim results for the half-year end.
  • Supervise the preparation of IFRS 16 lease accounting.
  • Draft technical papers on IFRS 15 application for large contracts and provide audit support.
  • Prepare guidance on capitalisation of employee costs for projects.
  • Provide query support for tax return preparation in collaboration with external auditors.
  • Assist with statutory accounts preparation for entities overseas.
  • Produce monthly statutory accounts, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Calculate monthly accruals for loan interest and corporation tax.
  • Review/reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular bases to ensure accuracy and validation.
  • Undertake a project to improve Group consolidation workflow.
  • Update monthly banking covenant calculation for board and bank.
  • Undertake ad hoc statutory and financial tasks for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver technical support and coaching to the transactional and management accounting teams.
Personal specification
  • ACA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in statutory accounting.
  • Exposure to international entities and multi-currency reporting preferred.
