Job description
Starting Well Nurse (Temporary) – 12 month fixed term contract

We will appoint two temporary Starting Well Nurses on a 12‑month fixed term contract across Ellesmere Port, Chester and the Rural District.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on children and families across the 5–11 and 11–19 age ranges and involves delivering the Healthy Child Programme.

  • Be a qualified Registered General Nurse.
  • Demonstrate skills in service improvement, innovation and public health.
  • Maintain flexibility and solution‑focused approaches to challenges.
  • Work in an integrated manner with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Show compassion, competence and a child‑focused approach in all activities.

You will support service leads with service improvement and the delivery of interventions to support the health, wellbeing and development of children and their families across Cheshire West and Chester.

You will benefit from a full induction and preceptorship programme, regular clinical and safeguarding supervision, and access to relevant internal and external training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Excellent knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme and a commitment to multi‑agency, collaborative and integrated team working.

Training & Support

Comprehensive training and support will be provided, including a full induction and preceptorship programme where appropriate.
