Overview
This role is predominantly based in Waste Management, with some lone working and forklift driving duties. The postholder will support the waste management function to complete daily waste collections and maintain cleanliness across the site. Full training will be provided for driving establishment vehicles and operating forklift trucks. The postholder will not supervise prisoners, but will come into contact with prisoners during daily duties. The role involves working outside in all weathers and some weekend work as per a set shift pattern with midweek rest days. Full PPE will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Support the waste management function to complete daily waste collections and maintain cleanliness across the site.
- Drive establishment vehicles and operate forklift trucks (training provided).
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and wear provided PPE.
- Possibly come into contact with prisoners during daily duties; no prisoner supervision required.
- Adhere to the agreed shift pattern, including weekend work as required.
Security and Eligibility
- Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.
- People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.

- Nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members who have made a valid application for settled or pre-settled status under EUSS
- Individuals with limited leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS on or before 31 December 2020
- Turkish nationals and certain family members who have accrued the right to work in the Civil Service
