Chichester College Group has an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Sports Centre Duty Manager based in Chichester. You will join us on a full-time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £26,716 - £29,196 per annum.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Duty Manager at the Chichester College Sports Centre on a full-time basis.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a keen interest in sport, leisure, fitness or related fields who wants hands-on experience in running a busy, customer-focused facility. You’ll gain valuable operational and leadership skills whilst working in a professional and supportive environment.

The Sports Centre Duty Manager Role

As a Duty Manager, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day running of the Sports Centre. You’ll be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining safety and cleanliness, setting up for activities, and ensuring our customers have a great experience.

Key Responsibilities of Our Sports Centre Duty Manager
  • Leading the daily operations of the Sports Centre, ensuring all areas are clean, well-maintained, and appropriately staffed.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to customer issues and operational challenges.
  • Providing exemplary customer service, handling queries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
  • Overseeing and motivating Sports Centre staff, ensuring they are well-trained and capable of delivering high-quality service.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, risk management, and safeguarding policies.
  • Working closely with curriculum departments to ensure academic programmes have access to required facilities and resources.
  • Analysing customer data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimise pricing strategies.
  • Planning and delivering marketing and promotional campaigns to increase awareness and participation.
Skills and Experience Required
  • A strong understanding of the leisure industry and experience managing sports or leisure facilities.
  • Proficient in using leisure booking systems.
  • Education to GCSE standard (or equivalent), grade C/4 or above including English and Maths.
  • Proven customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
